Teresa Galley

Property Woman of the Year 2008 - Teresa GalleyUntil recently acting as the National Landlords Association, (NLA) Regional Representative for S Yorks, N & NE Lincs & Kingston upon Hull, Teresa works with a number of Local Authorities and Local Landlord Associations to promote the interests of the private Landlord.

For 7 years, Teresa was the Business Development Manager, responsible for managing £multi million contracts, (including the Metro Newspaper) and generating secondary revenues for London Underground. During this time she became an APM, (Association of Project Management) qualified Project Manager and was involved in a number of major projects. These included leading the project to introduce mobile phone signals to the deep level tube and working on the Oyster travel card readers delivery programme.
Whilst in London, Teresa bought a number of properties and renovated them in her spare time, learning most of her skills from DIY manuals. Upon completion, each property gained substantially in value. So in October 2004, Teresa bought her first buy-to-let property in Doncaster.Property Woman of the Year 2008 - Teresa Galley
Within a year she had started work on her first major conversion property, it was then that she took the decision to leave London and become a full time Property Developer. Teresa usually selects buy-to-let investment properties that need some degree of renovation, as she likes to know that all works are done properly and that tenants will have minimum maintenance requests for a number of years.
By March 2008, Teresa’s Property Portfolio had grown substantially and she had formed Brighter Properties Ltd. It was at this time that she was honored by being voted the Bradford & Bingley UK Property Business Woman of the Year, based on her property portfolio, financial success and personal achievements.
Following the award, Teresa has featured regularly in both the local and national press and has been interviewed live on BBC Radio Sheffield and Hope FM.
It was at this time that Teresa decided to allow an agent to manage her property portfolio, in order to concentrate fully on further property developments. However, she was disappointed with the services on offer, she didn’t feel that the agents she spoke to fully understood the issues facing today’s landlords.
This led to the establishment of Galley Properties. The philosophies and practices of Galley Properties led to the Company fast establishing itself as an authority when it came to lettings locally with rapid growth of properties under management. So much so, that Galley Properties outgrew their office space and required extra staff within 4 months. 2009 saw the company move to larger, custom made offices and Teresa aims to increase turnover by 400%.
At the same time Teresa will still provide property consultancy services and is searching for her next major property project.

In her spare time, Teresa is renovating her own home. She also loves to travel, has started to learn Polish and Krav Maga. The award night - Property Woman of the Year 2008 - Teresa Galley
